Training and Workshops
Therapeutic Aggressive Control Technique (TACT-2)
Therapeutic Aggression Control Techniques (TACT-2) is a 3-day comprehensive staff training program which teaches front-line staff in residential and day treatment centers the verbal intervention and physical intervention skills needed to safely and therapeutically manage aggression.
Unlike other crisis intervention programs, TACT-2 teaches staff to distinguish between deliberate, purposeful aggression and true emotional crisis and then respond accordingly with behavioral correction or emotional counseling. In this way, TACT-2 helps staff develop skills which enhance rather than damage relationships with troubled children and youth.
Enriched Structured Family Therapy Model (Family Strengthening)
Family Strengthening is a skilled based approach to increasing the capacity of systems and agencies to deliver services that not only recognize and acknowledge the role of family, but also are based on the strengths of the family.
Dispute Resolution And Managing Anger (DRAMA CLUB)
An effective, cognitive behavior anger management program certified by the Maryland State Police to engage, intervene, and prevent those conduct disordered/anti-social personality disorders that often allows individuals to act out.
Therapeutic Behavior Management
Therapeutic Behavior Management (TBM) is a comprehensive staff training program for educators of challenging youth in public and alternative school settings. TBM integrates concepts and skills which support the implementation of a school-wide PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support) model.
TBM teaches educators and parents the verbal intervention skills to manage both emotional crises and deliberate misbehavior in classrooms and hallway -- issues which detract from a positive learning environment. TBM also includes optional training in physical intervention techniques, for schools which must occasionally manage dangerous or out-of-control students.
There will be a 16 hrs TBM training at Stuart Hill Academy on Oct 6, 13, 20 and 27, 2007. The trainings are broken down into 4-hour sessions from 12:30pm to 4:30pm. The training is limited to 25 participants and seat are filling quickly.
Cost:
$60 per person per day (a day is considered 8 hrs)
